What Does Your Insurance Policy Cover?
It is exciting to plan your holidays, read the guide books, and plan all the things you want to see and do. Wouldn’t it be nice if it were as simple as that! You then have to turn your attention to matters such as whether you need visas, whether your passport is valid, who is going to take care of the family pets, and other matters like travel insurance. As with any insurance policy, some things are covered and some are not. With travel insurance only certain aspects of your trip can be covered by any company so remember to read your policy and know what those things are before you set off. Taking out insurance, whether it be for the car, home, business, motorcycle, boat, travel, pet, laptop, etc. is a necessary part of life. You hope you will never need it but can’t afford not to have it.
Many of us are guilty of taking things for granted and not reading the lengthy and boring policy wording of any insurance policy. We know we have the policy filed away somewhere and assume it’s going to cover any problems that may arise. Only when something goes wrong do we get the policy out, scan it for coverage and exclusions, and call the insurance company expecting them to fix everything for us. No policy is going to cover all your financial losses when something goes wrong, especially if negligence is involved, so you should always read your policies and take all necessary precautions to protect your property and your safety as if you had no insurance.
Among our range of policies we have coverage for single trips, multiple trips, backpacking, skiing/winter sports, golfing holidays, motorcycle travel for Europe, and breakdown cover for the UK and Europe. We also now cover a number of terrorism-related risks. If you plan to go off on an adventure holiday check to make sure your intended activities are covered before you go. Remember to talk to your GP regarding any medical concerns and find out if you will need any vaccinations. As always, we recommend that you check the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for any posted travel warnings before you book. (fco.go.uk).
Sadly, travel may not be quite as easy and worry-free as it used to be with all the necessary security checks and procedures in place. However, there is nothing to compare with visiting new places and experiencing different cultures, whether it be for relaxation, education, or pure adventure. Our job is provide travel insurance so that you are free to enjoy your travels to the max! Our staff like to travel too and so we know from personal experience the concerns you have. If you can’t find the information you need on our website or are unsure about which policy to choose for your needs or have any other questions or concerns please give us a call. We have years of experience and are here to help!

I have learned the hard way.The recent terror events in Glasgow meant that my flight was cancelled. Of course my travel insurance did not cover us for acts of terror.
Money lost for flights, car airport parking, hotels and car hire at other end.
Just so you know!!
