Ski and Snowboard Resorts for the 1st October
Not many would think about skiing this early in the season but if you want to potentially catch a bargain and some empty slopes, here are some ideas for you:
In Europe, Switzerland, Italy and Austria all have pistes open.
Zermatt in Switzerland when we last checked had 90cm of snow and had six runs open to skiers and snowboarders.

Snow is forecast in Austria with 3.5km of pistes on the Sölden Glaciers open for some early season fun.

And finally, Val Senales in Italy is open for skiing and snowboarding on the glacier. Not a lot of snow here but that shouldn’t spoil your fun.

Hello Mary,
It is getting more and more difficult to forecast when the snow is going to arrive. Your best bet will eb to look to some of the higher, year round ski resorts.
Tignes in France, Kitzsteinhorn in the Austrian Alps, and around the Jotunheimen National Park in Norway have all offered year round skiing in the past.
