Born to Be Wild and Need Motorcycle Travel Insurance?

Those under the spell of motorcycles and the raw feelings of freedom, excitement and wildness they represent, are often doomed (or blessed) to stay that way for life.  If the mere mention of words like Harleys, Hogs, Choppers, and Route 66 get your pulse racing you’re probably hopelessly hooked.  Films like the late 60’s Easy Rider with Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper (with a significant role by Jack Nicholson) started a lot of it.  Steppenwolf’s Born to be Wild is still a biker’s anthem.

The hugely popular film Motorcycle Diaries came out in 2004, with a really well-done portrayal of Che Guevara and his travels throughout South America during the 1950’s.  Generations continue to be inspired by the amazing motorcycle trips of those who went before, with enthusiasts finding new ways to cover the globe on two wheels.

Not all motorcycle enthusasts are wild, of course.  There are all kinds of ways to enjoy motorcycles.  Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was not so much about motorcycles, as a pleasant way to investigate moral values when a man takes his son on a motorcycle trip across America.  Biking is not just for men either, plenty of women have made their mark with their own solo journeys and lived to tell the tale!

Then came the actor Ewan McGregor and friend Charley Boorman and their ‘Long Way Round: Chasing shadows Across the World’ about their adventures on bikes as they traveled around the world for four months, covering 20,000 miles.

So in an effort to cater to the motorcycle enthusiasts amongst our customers, we can assist you (through our affiliate) in finding a policy for motorcycle touring or travel throughout Europe. Conditions and exclusions apply, so please read the policy carefully.  For more information and a quote click on www.travel-insurance.net/motorcycle.
