Easter Ski Trip on Your Mind?

Easter eggs roll downhill, so that’s a good enough reason to justify a late ski trip!  Get your bunny ears and tail out of storage and hop on a plane to your favorite resort.  Judging by the amount of advertisements appearing, there’s still time to find a deal on a late season ski trip.  The snow this season has been good almost everywhere.  Great snowfall in the Alps has silenced the doom and gloom merchants who predicted the death of Alpine skiing following last year’s dearth of snow. 

March and the early part of April (and even later in some places) are still great times to catch a ski bargain, avoid the crowds, and maybe even luck out with some warm days and spring skiing conditions.  The Easter period may be a bit pricier, but if you are not tied to the dates you should be able to find some cheaper deals to fit around that time. 

One word of advice: It may be obvious, but the best conditions for spring skiing tend to be found at the higher altitudes resorts where temperatures remain colder but you could still have blue sky and sun as well as lovely snow conditions.  Think twice about resorts at lower altitudes where you might nab a good deal but also find yourself skiing slush in the afternoons followed by frozen slush and ruts the next morning!
