Planning a Whitsun Bank Holiday Getaway? How about Austria?

When travelling to any foreign country we recommend that you first visit the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website for their travel updates www.fco.gov.uk.  The FCO has issued an advisory regarding travel to Austria.  This is the time of year when you may be thinking of some late glacier skiing, or planning a trip for the Whitsun holiday or your summer holidays.  More than 800,000 Brits visit this beautiful country each year!

As in any touristy area, always be on your guard for thieves, muggers and pickpockets.  Apparently it’s quite a problem in Vienna’s city centre.  They also have strict rules regarding travelling in Austria as a single parent or adult with children and you must have the necessary documents with you.   If you plan to go camping or visiting wooded areas you should arrange to get inoculated for tick-borne diseases - and check for other necessary vaccinations for Austria.
