Higher Fuel Prices Means Increased Fares on British Airways

British Airways has responded to the rise in oil prices by passing costs along to passengers in the form of additional fuel surcharges. For short haul flights the price will go up by £6 on a return flight (£3 each leg). Translated, this means that the surcharge will now be £16 per flight, £32 return.

Fuel surcharges on long haul flights (less than 9 hours) will go up by £15 per flight, translating to £78 each way (£156 return).

Long haul flights of more than 9 hours will go up by £30 per flight, meaning £109 each way (£218 return).   Check the BA website for updated information.

Fortunately, here at TIA we are not increasing the price of our great value travel insurance!
