Final Boarding Call for Silverjet - May 30 2008

Sad news regarding all-business class airline, Silverjet. An annoucement has been made that they have been unable to secure the needed financing to continue operating. They will cease business as of today, May 30 2008, with their last flight from Dubai to London.

The CEO has posted an announcement on Silverjet’s website stating that they are unable to honour further flight reservations. Their customers are advised to make alternative flight arrangements.  Virgin Atlantic and British Airways are offering special fares to help out any stranded Silverjet passengers. Customers should contact their credit card company or travel agent regarding refunds. 

Silverjet’s CEO retains a glimmer of hope for their future as they are still trying to obtain financing.  If successful, they will start up operations again and make a further announcement. We wish them luck – perhaps every cloud does have a silver lining…
