Strikes Affecting Motorists in Spain and Vehicle Rescue Services

If you are off to Spain or already in Spain - especially if driving - we advise travellers to check the latest travel updates and advisories. The road hauliers strike in Spain has been causing serious delays and back-ups on the roads and motorways. Border areas have been particularly adversely affected, although this is reported to be clearing now and the police have been involved to keep everything moving, but picket action is still a possibility.  Ferry services may be delayed or cancelled - and to make matters worse the taxis have called a national strike today (Friday 13th!).  Fuel supply to some areas could also be a problem so check with local Spanish news sources for updates.  Shortages of supplies of fresh food have also been reported in some parts of Spain.
