Tour de France 2008 Race Schedule May Affect Travel in France
The 95th Tour de France is underway with the racers now on Stage 5, between Cholet and Châteauroux. Those planning to visit or travel through France between now and July 27th should check the race schedule to see if they might be affected by delays - or lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the athletes battling it out!
The cyclists started on July 5th with a flat stage from Brest, Brittany and will endure five mountain stages during the 21-stage race which covers 3,500 kilometres over three weeks. The Tour will take the racers south, reaching Pau for a rest day on July 14th, then east to Cuneo, Italy, for a rest day on July 21st. The Tour then heads back north, reaching Paris – the final destination - on July 27th where the winner will cross the finishing line at the Champs-Elysees.
