Motoring in Europe? Don’t Leave Home Without Breakdown Cover!

Caravans and trailers are often included free with breakdown cover, so why do so many people hit the road without it?  It is estimated that half of all motorists heading for the continent neglect to take out European Breakdown Cover.  Perhaps in these times of high prices and cost-cutting many believe they can get away with just purchasing travel insurance and hope their own car insurance will cover them for motoring mishaps which might occur abroad… Sadly that is not always the case.  Repatriation of a car and occupants back to the UK could cost thousands of pounds.  In contrast to the relatively low cost for taking out breakdown cover it’s crazy to leave home without it. 

Not only do many motorists not bother with breakdown cover, but they also don’t bother to have their car serviced and checked over before setting off on their trips.  Many believe that they will be able to handle any problems that arise, or arrange for the vehicle to be fixed.  However, these days most cars have sophisticated computer systems installed and Pierre, the local mechanic, may not be able to get you back on the road as quickly - or inexpensively - as you would like.
