Tropical Storm Fay Follows Edouard and Dolly as She Hits the U.S.
It’s hurricane season - the time of year that can strike fear into the hearts and minds of locals and visitors alike. Tropical Storm Fay has wrought havoc over Haiti and Cuba, leaving several fatalities in her wake. Fay has the potential to turn into Hurricane Fay after she makes landfall in the Florida Keys. Most of Florida will be affected by the storm with flooding, high winds and heavy rainfall. Those with plans to travel to the area should watch travel advisories and obtain updated advice or contact their airline before setting off.
The hurricane season in the U.S. lasts from June through November and can affect any of the southern states. Don’t get swept away by the cheapest Travel Insurance policy you find on the net – if it seems too good to be true it probably is! Check the levels of cover before you buy (especially for the United States where medical costs are astronomical) and make sure that you are covered for essentials like lost luggage and emergency medical repatriation.
