Gay Tour Operator Ceases Trading Following Collapse of XL
Somerset-based Throb Holidays is the latest casualty in the travel industry, with its failure attributed to the recent collapse of XL Airways and XL Leisure Group. The company had been in business for fourteen years and mainly operated holidays to Spain.
There is a message on the company’s website apologizing to their customers and members of the gay community who will be inconvenienced. XL Airways was their main flight provider and therefore the collapse of the airline has affected their ability to continue operating.
They advise that their customers will be contacted by email or post within the next few days (in order of priority) for an update on the status of their bookings. Those booked to fly with XL Airways will receive claim forms to obtain a refund. Flights booked through other airlines are still valid and customers will be advised how to proceed. Customers who paid via credit card may be protected under the Consumer Credit Act and be able to obtain refunds. To review the announcement by Throb Holidays visit their website.
