Opportunity to Vent Feelings about Airports and Airlines
Passengers flying out of Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Manchester (the four busiest airports by passenger number) are part of a survey to find out the truth about services offered – good or bad!
In response to a request by the government the Civil Aviation Authority commissioned a survey on passengers by ORC International – an independent market research company. The results of the survey, funded by the Department of Transport, will be available in early 2009 and used to help improve overall services.
As part of the survey, passengers are asked for their opinion about services being provided by airports and airlines, all the way from purchasing tickets and pricing practices to the airport experience and actual flight. Included are economy and business class passengers on long haul and short haul flights for business or pleasure. The airlines and airports are also involved in a separate survey regarding the service they provide to customers.
The survey involves two stages: Passengers are approached at airports and those who agree to take part are contacted upon their return to participate in a 20 minute telephone interview. In this way it is anticipated that an accurate picture of the entire flight experience can be gained while causing minimum disruption to passengers during their journey.
