Snowboarding in Italy – Bad News and New Ski Laws

Mamma Mia!  We don’t know when – but according to the Foreign Office (FCO) website there are plans in the works to ban snowboarders from certain ski slopes in Italy.

There are some other new laws that skiers and boarders in Italy should be aware of:

  • It is now compulsory for skiers and boarders to carry tracking equipment when going off-piste
  • Skiers and boarders under 14 years of age are required by law to wear a helmet

With the cost of everything rising faster than you can say uno, due, tre – or so it seems - don’t try to save money by cutting out ski insurance – it just isn’t worth taking the risk.

Visit our Travel Guide for Italy and click on the link for the Foreign Office (FCO) for updated and excellent travel information about Italy.  Oh, and don’t forget your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
