Man Loses His Pants on Vail Ski Lift

Wow… I don’t think there’s any provision in a ski insurance policy to cover this man’s embarrassment – not to mention the cold, dangly bits.  The Mail Online ran the story about it – with pictures.

It’s easy to lose your shirt in Vail, what with the high prices and all, but most don’t expect to part with their pants – unwillingly – and certainly not on a ski lift.  It could have been worse no doubt – but by how much?

According to news reports, the incident happened last Friday in Vail, Colorado on a high-speed lift in Blue Sky basin.  It seems the seat was not in the proper position and the man fell through the gap as he boarded the lift.  His right ski lodged, thank goodness, and saved him from plummeting.  The child on the lift appeared to be okay, but must have been terrified.  It took about fifteen minutes before he was rescued, which gave ample opportunity for those in snapping range to record the event for the world to see.  Oh dear.

Ski Insurance covers just about any ‘exposure’ to risk – except this one.  The stuff of nightmares for every skier and boarder…
