Copenhagen vs Man City UEFA Cup February 19

Let’s hope Robinho’s troubles will be sorted out soon as the Blues are scheduled to travel to Denmark for the UEFA Cup Round 32 first-leg match on February 19, 2009 after being drawn to face Ståle Solbakken’s FC København. The return match at Manchester City’s home ground will be played on February 26.  (Non-fans planning a visit to Copenhagen may wish to make a note and avoid visiting during this time).

Redevelopment of Copenhagen’s home ground, Parken (Park) Stadium, is still in progress, meaning the capacity is reduced to just under 34,100 seats until work is finished later this year.  Fans planning to make the trip will not be disappointed as Copenhagen is a great city to visit, with lots to see.  Visas are not required for British passport holders, but Blues fans should check that their passports have at least three months validity to enter Denmark.

The standard of medical care is high and a reciprocal healthcare agreement exists between Denmark and the UK, meaning that British nationals should be covered for emergency medical care during a visit.  However, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) should be obtained prior to travel .  The EHIC covers emergency medical care but does not cover other matters such as emergency repatriation, ongoing treatment, lost luggage or cancellation/curtailment of a trip, so it is very important to also take out Travel Insurance.

Remember – currency is the Danish Krone - not the Euro.  Lastly, although clothing is optional in Denmark, with the current temperatures we’d recommend dressing up warm!  For more information about Denmark visit our Travel Guide and follow the Foreign Office (FCO) link for updated travel advice and information.

Have a great trip!  Go Blues!
