Barcelona v Chelsea - UEFA Semi-final - April 28

Travellers planning to visit Barcelona should be aware that Chelsea FC are scheduled to play FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League semi-final match at the Camp Nou stadium on April 28, 2009.   For ticket information visit the Chelsea FC website.

The Foreign Office (FCO) has provided information for travelling Blues fans, including how to get to the stadium and advice for attending the match - click here.   Doors open at 1800 hours, with kick-off at 20:45 CET (Central European Time). Chelsea fans should expect to be held back for about half an hour after the match to allow Barcelona fans to exit first. (Note that it is illegal to drink in the streets in some areas of Spain).

Fans should also be aware that if flying to Spain they must, under EU rules, supply personal details to their airline prior to flying (date of birth, passport number, nationality, etc.).

It is important to take out travel insurance - even if only an overnight trip to see the match.  Also, remember to take your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) - but be aware that it is not a substitute for travel insurance!

To find more helpful information visit our Travel Guide for Spain and then follow the link for the Foreign Office (FCO) ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign for updated travel advisories.  Good Luck Blues!
