Venice – Biennale, Film Festival and Regatta 2009

If your travel plans for this year include Venice, make a note of the dates of some major cultural events taking place.  June 7 through November 22, 2009 marks another exciting La Biennale di Venezia as Venice celebrates its 53rd International Art Exhibition.  The Giardini (gardens) area is the traditional venue for the majority of the exhibitions with its Italian Pavilion and 29 national pavilions - built over the years by participating countries.  The Arsenale also hosts some exhibitions - and countries without their own pavilion in the Giardini use various venues throughout Venice.  Visit the official Biennale website.

2009 also marks the 66th Venice Film Festival which startst a week later than usual this year – September 2-12, 2009.

Tickets are available for all events and the Silver, Gold and Platinum Biennale Card will also be available this year - which includes entry to dance, music, theatre, the Biennale exhibitions, Film Festival and other cultural events taking place in Venice during 2009.
