Eurostar – New Service Connecting with Switzerland
Eurostar, the high-speed train connecting the UK with mainland Europe, has announced the launch of a new high-speed train schedule which connects with 18 destinations in Switzerland. For those who prefer not to fly the new partnership with high-speed train operator Lyria will provide a green and relaxing alternative.
According to Eurostar, the fastest journey times from St. Pancras International to Swiss cities range from 06h28 to Geneva, 06h19 to Basel, 06h50 to Lausanne, 07h28 to Zurich, and 07h40 to Bern. Travellers departing from Ebbsfleet can reduce the travel times by 10 minutes and travellers from Ashford by 30 minutes. The journey involves one transfer in Paris to either Gare de Lyon or Gare de l’Est.
Tickets to Switzerland start from £100 RT. Passengers have the option to travel direct to Switzerland or combine the trip with a stop in Paris before continuing. Tickets can be purchased via the Eurostar website, at Eurostar stations, or by calling 08705 186 186.
