South Africa v Lions 1st Test Saturday June 20 2009

This is a great weekend for Father’s Day to fall on as there are plenty of sporting treats to keep the men happy (and many women too) with the Lions 1st Test match in South Africa, FIFA Confederations Cup matches, British F1 Grand Prix, U.S. Open golf, Royal Ascot, and the Paris Air Show – to name a few.  You may have trouble getting him off the couch to take him out to lunch!

The rugby action hots up on Saturday for the British and Irish Lions Tour of South Africa first Test match:
 
1st Test – June 20 – ABSA Park, Durban
2nd Test – June 27 – Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria
3rd Test – July 4  – Coca Cola Park, Johannesberg (formerly Ellis Park)

Kick-off for all the above matches will be at 15:00 local time (2pm UK time), though TV coverage will start earlier so check the schedule.

Sadly, the Lions will be without the benefit of James Hook and Euan Murray on Saturday as they were both injured in Tuesday’s battle with the Southern Kings. 

Fans attending any of the matches are warned to beware of purchasing tickets from sources other than official licensed outlets as they could risk being refused entry to the stadium.  For more information visit the British and Irish Lions website.
