Get Safe Online - Free British Government Guide

Although most people using the internet on a regular basis are probably aware of typical internet security hazards, we thought it worthwhile passing along this link for those who may not be so savvy.  We all know someone who is new to the internet, especially as young people and seniors tend to be frequent targets of opportunists and criminals.  Let’s face it though - it can happen to anyone.

Reports have shown that many people are more afraid of internet crime than of being mugged or burgled!  At the same time it was found that many users do not feel they are totally responsible for their online security!  Another group of the public shies away from shopping online and online banking because of their fear of being targeted.

Having access to the internet is almost a necessity for travel these days, especially with airlines moving to online check-in, and holidays, car rentals and, yes, even travel insurance being purchased online!

We could all do with reminding about the dangers posed by identity thieves, phishing attacks, viruses and other internet threats. Why not take advantage of this expert advice or pass along the link to someone who needs it:  Get Safe Online.  They also produce a Blog which is handy for receiving the latest updates.
