British MotoGP 2009 Donington Park July 24-26

Practice for the British Motorcycle Grand Prix gets underway at Donington Park tomorrow, Friday July 24, 2009.  Who knows what kind of challenges the British weather will throw at the riders, but showers look likely to make things interesting.  Practice sessions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, culminating with the Grand Prix main event on Sunday.

This year the British Moto Grand Prix will be bittersweet for many riders and fans as it is the last year that the event will be held at Donington Park in Leicestershire.  Donington has played host to the MotoGP since 1987 but the event will be moving to Silverstone for 2010.   The Formula One Grand Prix circuit will perform the reverse manoeuvre – moving from Silverstone to Donington for 2010.  Visit the official MotoGp website for more information.
