Spa Break? Why Not Treat Yourself and a Friend

A spa break may be the last thing that comes to mind when choosing how to spend any precious disposable income.  However, a spa break and some pampering might be just what you need.

An internet search should locate the perfect last-minute spa package,so why not take along a friend or loved one to relax, float, and hold hands with – just like this otterly adorable pair!

Try searching online for special offers, vouchers and coupons for discounts at spas, either close to home – or away for a mini-break – you might be surprised at what is available.  If you plan on staying a few days, choose a spa with sea views or in a peaceful mountain setting with lakes and outdoor activities for maximum fresh air.

Here in the UK, we have a selection of wonderful spas to choose from.  Many health clubs and gyms around the country also offer their facilities to non-members.  Whether you fancy the works for ultimate pampering or just a chance to relax for a while and use the Jacuzzi, steam rooms and pool, with perhaps a 30-minute massage, facial, manicure or pedicure thrown in, there is something for everyone – even bathing in chocolate!

If you have plans to travel abroad why not look for a spa close to your destination. India and Thailand are noted for inexpensive treatments.  In the U.S. there are fantastic spas in all the major cities and just about everywhere inbetween. Throughout Europe there are natural mineral spas where you can ‘take the waters’.  If you want the truly exotic and don’t mind paying a bit more, visit an island spa in the Caribbean, Bora Bora, or the Seychelles.

In these tough financial times, a voucher for a spa break or treatment could be the perfect gift solution and a welcome treat for stressed-out loved ones and friends. Spas are not just for women either; although a lot of men may not admit it, they love to be pampered too!

Check to see if your annual travel insurance policy includes cover for short breaks in your country of residence, which often applies (ours does!) when two or more nights’ accommodation have been pre-booked.
