Christmas Post International Deadlines for 2009
Christmas is a great time of year to say hello to friends and family living overseas and keep in touch with all those great people you met on your travels.
Sorry to remind you, but it’s time to get cracking with your Christmas post and packages if you want to avoid a last minute panic!
The latest ’recommended’ date of December 4 is not far away for International Airmail to certain countries (S. and Central America, Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East, Australia and New Zealand).
December 10 is the latest recommended date for: USA, Canada, Japan, Eastern Europe. December 11 is the latest for Western Europe.
The latest recommended date for International Surface Mail has already passed for all international destinations except Western Europe. If you are late with your packages remember that the published dates are ‘recommended’ and may not necessarily be set in stone, so probably still worth a try. Better late than never.
Last recommended posting dates for Christmas 2009:
- 1st Class – December 21
- 2nd Class – December 18
- International Airmail – from December 4, depending on country
- Next-day Delivery/Special Delivery services – up to December 23
