Unirea v Liverpool in Bucharest – 25 Feb 2010
Liverpool FC travels out to Romania to play AFC Unirea Urziceni in a UEFA Europa League match at the Steaua Stadium in Bucharest on Thursday, 25 February 2010.
Reds fans travelling out to support the team should check their passport expiration date to ensure it will be valid for the trip.
The Foreign Office (FCO) has provided some important travel advice for fans. For example: Upon arrival in Bucharest you may be asked to complete a questonnaire about Swine Flu and failure to comply could set you back a £100 fine!
The FCO has also provided information on getting to the stadium and advice to avoid paying too much for a taxi.
Be aware that any signs of intoxication may result in denial of entry to the stadium. Also, entry to the Steaua Stadium is via bar-coded tickets only. Liverpool fans should expect to be held back about fifteen minutes after the game.
There is a lot of street crime in Bucharest, so beware of pickpockets, credit card cloning, criminals posing as police officers, and other scams!
Don’t forget to take out travel insurance before you leave home. We can provide a very reasonable quote for you here. Have a safe trip and good luck!
