Motoring Holiday Plans?

A road trip can be a big adventure as you eat up the miles and see new places, or taken at a slower and more relaxing pace.  Whichever way you choose to do it, be prepared - especially when towing a caravan or trailer.  Oh, and make sure your car is up to the job of towing a caravan before you set off…

Here’s a great example of how not to do it!

With hot spells of weather such as we experienced recently in the UK and parts of Europe, there is always the danger of engines (and people) overheating, so be smart and expect the unexpected.

You may feel like a hero and explorer as you set off with the family and caravan to navigate foreign and unfamiliar roads, but why take the chance of going it alone and getting all steamed up when you could ‘phone a friend’ if there’s a problem.  (Getting a car fixed is bad enough when you can speak the language…)

Our Breakdown Cover includes the many benefits for UK and European roadside assistance that is offered by the major operators – but ours comes at just a fraction of the price!   Why pay more?

Have a look at our Vehicle Rescue comments and information, find the cover that suits your needs, and then get a quote - click here.  (The well-known and worldwide AXA Assistance provides our vehicle and motorcycle breakdown services for the UK and Europe).

Our Vehicle Rescue Direct Breakdown Cover also includes *FREE* trailer and caravan recovery – which applies when the trailer or caravan is attached to the vehicle on the policy.  If your car should break down while towing a caravan or trailer the problem will be fixed roadside or taken to a suitable place for repair.  (Don’t forget to carry a serviceable spare tyre and wheel for your caravan or trailer).

Imagine the peace of mind of knowing you have this cover in place – and then imagine how you might feel without it if the worst should happen…  Why ruin an otherwise magical trip.

Once the vehicle cover is taken care of, don’t forget to take along your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to cover yourself and family, but remember that the EHIC should never be used as a substitute for proper travel insurance(For example, the EHIC does not cover treatment in a private facility, if you should be taken to one, or other potentially costly matters like medical repatriation, liability claims, legal expenses, lost luggage, etc).

We also offer Motorcycle Travel Insurance for UK and Irish motorcyclists (for bikes up to 1400 cc) and Motorcycle Breakdown Cover for touring in Europe.

Have a great trip!
