Australia – Floods in Victoria
The state of Victoria, in southeastern Australia, has been hit by strong winds, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall causing rivers to burst their banks, landslides, and flooding.
According to news reports, hundreds of homes in rural towns have been evacuated with residents fleeing to emergency shelters and it is anticipated that hundreds more may still be affected. The Melbourne area has also experienced power outages.
Travellers heading to Victoria should monitor news reports and contact their airline or travel provider for advice and information on the situation.
