We are all starting to suffer from the same syndrome. We watch anxiously as the luggage we have laboured over for weeks and carefully packed disappears on that squeaky conveyor belt behind the check-in person and into the bowels of the airport. Will we ever see it again? No matter the tricks we may use for easy [...]

What a disappointing and embarrassing disaster the opening of the new ‘Gateway to Britain’ has been! The failure of the ‘state-of-the art’ baggage system will be remembered worldwide – be it due to technical or human error. Flights have been cancelled by the dozens on a daily basis since the opening, although British Airways is hoping to [...]

Many people are being put off flying because of the chaotic and stressful experience of going through the airports. It’s bad enough worrying about fighting through traffic to arrive in time, without the added stress of having to comply with the security rules and luggage restrictions.
Apparently, many people are choosing to pack the family car and travel [...]

As mentioned in a recent blog, Ryanair’s website was down all last weekend while they worked on it to make changes to the online pricing structure in order for the fares shown to be inclusive. The Office of Fair Trading has been on their case for a while because the airline has continually failed to [...]

The world’s first bio-fuel commercial flight - powered partly by nuts - took to the air Sunday. Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic jumbo-jet flew to Amsterdam with one of its engines running on a mixture of mostly bio-fuel made from a blend of plant and nut oils. However, environmental activists are not convinced that the use [...]

It looks as if British Airways pilots have voted to strike but there are still hopes that an agreement will be reached to avoid the action. Let’s hope so, especially as the proposed strike dates might encompass the Easter holiday period.
BA is also raising the fuel surcharge on its medium- and long-haul flights from February [...]
