In the last 30 years Kranjska Gora has developed into the most well known and largest winter sport centre in the country. The village is situated at a height of 810m above sea level and, together with the surrounding villages, it has a population of around 2000. The ski season in Kranjska Gora normally lasts from mid December until the end of March. In the eventuality that there is not enough snow, some of the 30km slopes in Kranjska Gora can be covered with fake snow. Lake BledLake Bled is one of Slovenia 's most visually stunning areas and is popular with tourists in all seasons.
