The Berkshires in New England offer a great variety of cultural and sporting attractions.  Among them are the Hancock Shaker Village where you can purchase Shaker style furniture and the Norman Rockwell Museum.


Tanglewood will be known to classical music lovers as the home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.   There are many romantic and quaint villages and towns to be explored where you can browse art and antique shops and dine in charming restaurants.   


Berkshire East

Known as ‘The Beast’ this southern New England ski area is located in Charlemont, approx. 100 miles from Boston just off the scenic Mohawk Trail.  It offers offers 45 trails from beginner to advanced, 5 lifts, summit elevation of 1,720 feet, a halfpipe, snowmaking and night skiing.  There is also a ski touring center and lodge.



This is the ski area of Springfield Ski Club whcih has been operating ti for more than 75 years. Approximately 20 miles to the west of Springfield, this area offers skiing for all levels with 3 lifts, a tow, 22 trails, 465 foot vertical drop, terrain park, half pipe and 80% snowmaking. 


Bousquet Ski Area

Bousquet rests on the edge of the city of Pittsfield, in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. Bousquet’s Snowsports School is known for its professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable instructors that will provide you and your children with an experience of a lifetime. Five U.S. Olympic downhill skiers have evolved from the Bousquet Race Team including Heidi Voelker and Kim and Krista Schmidinger — all honing their skills on Bousquet’s diverse terrain.


Butternut Ski Area

Butternut Ski Area is located in Gt. Barrington, approx. 130 miles from Boston.  It offers 10 lifts, 110 skiable acres, 22 ski trails, longest run 1.5 miles, vertical drop 1,000 feet, a summit elevation of 1,800 feet, cross country, tubing center and snowboard park.   Terrain is predominantly intermediate skiing, with 20% beginner and 20% advanced. 



Catamount Ski Area is located in South Egremont, approx. 130 miles from Boston.  It offers 6 lifts, 32 trails and park areas – over 119 skiable acres, a summit elevation of 2,000 feet, vertical drop of 1,000 feet, longest run 2.5 miles, snowboarding park and night skiing.


Jiminy Peak

Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort  is located in Hancock, approx. 150 miles from Boston.  It has a summit elevation of 2,380 feet, vertical drop of 1,150 feet, 8 lifts, 43 trails, a halfpipe, tubing park and terrain park.
