Known as the Land of Waterfalls and set amid many mountains,

Located in Maggie Valley, Cataloochee is the state’s
oldest ski area. It is approx. 35 miles from Asheville and borders
the Great Smoky Mountains. The closest airport is
Asheville Regional, approx. 50 miles away, or Greenville-Spartanburg
International, approx. an hour away. It also has
a Terrain park, night skiing and tubing plus plenty of lodging
nearby. An average annual snowfall of 40” plus
snowmaking.
