Tennessee only ski resort is Ober Gatlinburg, but this southern state is not known as a typical ski destination.

However, there are so many other things to see and do in Tennessee that it is divided into three separate areas:  the west, middle and east Tennessee.  This is the state where you will find Elvis Presley’s Graceland and Dolly Parton’s Dollywood park.  Along with the gentle southern hospitality and friendliness of the people, the state has more than 50 scenic state parks, the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers, riverboats, and plenty of lakes and beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors.

The state’s capital, Nashville, is well known as home to many musical genres such as blues, rock, country, jazz, bluegrass and soul music.   The RCA studio is where Elvis recorded many of his songs.  The state also churned out many other musical greats such as B.B. King, Isaac Hayes and Hank Williams.

Among the many other attractions, you can visit The Stax Museum of American Soul music, the Grand Ole Opry , Country Music Hall of Fame and the Sun recording studio.
