Charlotte Pass
Charlotte Pass is Australia’s highest and oldest ski
resort and also perhaps the most isolated. This resort
is the only snowbound resort in Australia which can be accessed
during the winter season from Perisher Valley. The upside
to the remoteness of the location is that they only allow a maximum
of just over 600 visitors to the area at any time. So you
are pretty well guaranteed a great day of skiing with hardly
any lift lines. Slopeside accommodation offers ski-in and
ski-out facilities. This is also a great location
for Nordic skiing. The closest town is 40 km away
at Jindabyne.
