Ensure that your travel plans are strictly on a 'need to know' basis.
Tell your colleagues not to release information about your travel and business itinerary to unauthorised person or strangers.
Check that your company has arranged proper travel insurance. If not, or if the insurance does not provide sufficient cover, arrange your own - even for a short trip.
Avoid travelling to and from regular locations at the same time and route every day.
Personnel files should be closely guarded as this information can be used to kidnap a person for monetary or financial gain.
X-ray machines do not usually affect laptop computers. However, if in doubt ask for a hand inspection.
Do not use a laptop computer for processing sensitive information in public areas. Maintain good levels of password security on your computer and consider using removeable disks for all important data.
Keep computer passwords, safe combinations, desk keys and important company informationwith you at all times and never in the hotel room.
