The Seychelles

Although they may be closer to Africa they are certainly closer to India in cultural and geological ways. The islands were "left behind" as the Indian sub-continent moved northward on its way to collide with Asia.

The islands were formed when the Indian sub-continent shifted northwards to join with Asia . The Seychelles is made up of 115 separate islands, all of the ‘Robinson Crusoe’ variety.

Arguably the best looking island is La Digue.

The island has a real old world charm, some say that its as if time stands still. The way of life on La Digue has been unchanged for years and ox-cart’s and bicycles are still the main form of transport. The island can be reached by boat or helicopter.
