About Manchester Airport
Manchester is the twelfth busiest airport in Europe and is home to 95 airlines flying to over 170 country's across the globe. Its three terminals now serve in excess of 19 million passengers a year as well as a considerable amount of cargo. The airport was originally called Ringway and work started on its construction in 1934. It became an international gateway airport in 1980.

How to Get There
Manchester Airport is situated 10 miles south of the city of Manchester and has excellent road and rail links. By road the airport has direct links from Junction 5 of the M56 while Manchester Airports railway station operates services to Manchester Piccadilly Station and the rest the country's rail network. Local buses operate every half hour into Manchester and the local area.

Refreshments and Shopping
There are plenty of opportunities to spend your money and refresh yourself in all three terminals both before and after security and there is a couple of refreshment bars at the airports railway station.

Terminal Information

The airlines operating out of Terminal 1 include Air Canada, bmi british midland international flights, Iberia, Lufthansa, Olympic and SAS. Airlines ar terminal 2 include Air France, Continental, Delta, US Airways and Virgin Atlantic while terminal 3 operators include British Airways, American Airlines, Finnair and LOT Polish. This Terminal is also used for UK Domestic flights.

Airport Lounges

Lounges are available airside at Terminals one and two and are suitable for international flights only:

Servisair Terminals 1 and 2
A comfortable lounge available to passengers irrespective of class of travel. Passengers are advised to book in advance. Children are permitted to use the lounge but must be well behaved. Facilities include TV, Flight Information Screens, Bar and Light refreshments, newspapers and magazines.

Escape Lounge - Terminal 2
Designed to meet the needs of all our passengers Escape at Manchester Airport ensures you are surrounded by comfort with facilities and services to match. Separated into three zones there is also a separate smoking area and lift access is nearby. Children under 8 are not permitted. For morning flights, complimentary toast, preserves, fresh fruit, yogurts, sandwiches, pastries and muffins. They also offer soft and alcoholic drinks.

Airport Car Parks

Airparks Services
An off-airport short stay car park with a transfer time of around 15 to 20 minutes. These are available 24 hours a day and it is recommended that you allow one hour to park your car and transfer to the terminal.

Manchester Premier Park
The car park is on the airport grounds and serves all three terminals. A courtesy bus runs every 15 minutes with a transfer time of around eight minutes.

SkyPark Chauffeur Parking
No transfers are required as you will be met on arrival outside the terminal building and your car taken to a secure covered car park just 4 miles away. On return you just need to call SkyPark Chauffeur Parking once you have collected your baggage and they will deliver your car.

The Radisson SAS *****
The superb hotel is link to all three terminals by moving walkways. Packages are available which include car parking. The hotel's restaurant Phileas Fogg offers outstanding modern cuisine and a unique view over the airport. The Runway Brasserie offers an International cuisine in an informal atmosphere. Guests have free access to the health club facilities, which include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gym.

The Hilton Airport ****
Just 900 yards from the airport and two minutes from the railway station, the Hilton is a convenient hotel for anyone wanting to take a break for or after your travel. Situated 3 miles from the airport, the Britannia is modern and purpose built. The hotel has modern bedrooms and a good range of meeting rooms. With 200 car parking spaces it is a great location for meetings and courses.
