A culturly rich, land-locked country, Loas has a population
of around 4 million. The people are largely Buddhist in belief
and renowned for their hospitality. Although the official language
is Lao, English and French are also spoken.
Sometimes known as the land of a million elephants, there are
many opportunities to experience the rich wildlife and untouched
landscape. Elephant safaris can be organised which will take
you right into the heart of the dense forests.
The capital city, Vientiane can be found on the Mekong River
which marks the boundary between Loas and Thailand . Within the
city’s ancient walls a whole array of fascinating monuments
and buildings can be found including the Arc of Triumph, Friendship
Bridge and the Buddha Park. Truly an untouched paradise.
