Laos, one of South East Asia ’s least developed nations, is an extremely welcoming, beautiful and hastle-free destination. Is certainly off the beaten track and it is only relatively resently that the Western tourist have started to arrive.

A culturly rich, land-locked country, Loas has a population of around 4 million. The people are largely Buddhist in belief and renowned for their hospitality. Although the official language is Lao, English and French are also spoken.

Sometimes known as the land of a million elephants, there are many opportunities to experience the rich wildlife and untouched landscape. Elephant safaris can be organised which will take you right into the heart of the dense forests.

The capital city, Vientiane can be found on the Mekong River which marks the boundary between Loas and Thailand . Within the city’s ancient walls a whole array of fascinating monuments and buildings can be found including the Arc of Triumph, Friendship Bridge and the Buddha Park. Truly an untouched paradise.
