Malaysia is one of the fasted developing economies in the world; located in the centre of South East Asia it borders Thailand in the north and Singapore in the south.
Known as one of the most hospitable and hassle free countries in South East Asia the culture draws from a mixture of Chinese, Indian and many indigenous beliefs. The capital city of Kuala Lumpur can be found on the West Coast and is an excellent place to start exploring the rest of Malaysia . The city, known locally as just ‘KL’, is full of vibrant activity and offers excellent sightseeing and shopping. The most popular area to visit is the Malaysian Peninsular, which is divided into the East and West Coast by the Titiwangsa mountain range. By far the more developed of the two coasts is the West which has many attractions, although the East coast has a certain charm where many old beliefs and traditions still survive. The biggest tourist pull on the East Coast is the arrival of the leatherback turtles that make annual visits to lay their egg in the warm soft sand. CLIMATE Malaysia has a tropical climate. There are annual southwest monsoons between April and October and northeast monsoons from October to February. LINKS
