Disneyland Paris is located just under 20 miles (33km) east of Paris. The Disneyland Park is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mon-Sat, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Getting to Eurodisney

There are several ways to get to the Disneyland Resort in Paris : by ferry, train, coach, car, or air. The Eurostar train runs from London ’s Waterloo station and delivers you to Marne-la-Vallee/Chessy station at the entrance to the park in just three hours. Or you can catch the Eurostar from Ashford in Kent and arrive one hour earlier. If you prefer, you can drive directly to the park by taking a Channel crossing by ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre, Newhaven to Dieppe or Dover to Calais.

Or you can take your car and go via the Eurotunnel to Calais and proceed to the park by motorway. If you are driving, look for the exit no. 14 (‘sortie 14’) marked ‘Parcs Disney/Bailly-Romainvailliers’ to get to the Park and the hotels in the park area. Don’t forget that many of the motorways in France have a toll system. If you are travelling from Paris you can take the RER A train, which is approx. 35 minute ride to the Marne-la-Vallee station at the entrance to the Disneyland Resort.

The Disneyland Park is divided into five main areas: Main Street USA where you can experience the American ambience of years gone by. Frontierland, which is a replica of an old Wild West town (the most popular rides in this area are Big Thunder Mountain , (a runaway train ride), the Mississippi river boat, and Phantom Manor). Adventureland has the very popular Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the tree dwelling Swiss Family Robinson, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril . Fantasyland is the classic fairytale world of Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and of course, the ever popular and timeless ‘Small World.’ Discoveryland is the place for space travel and special effects with the popular Space Mountain ride, Star Tours, and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!

Places to Stay

There are plenty of hotels right at the park, some of which include, the Victorian style pink Disneyland Hotel. Disney’s Hotel New York gives you the feeling of being in the Big Apple itself. The Disney’s Newport Bay Club is a New England style hotel on the shore of Lake Disney . Disney’s Sequoia Lodge also sits alongside Lake Disney and has a wooded forest theme with wooden and stone chalets. Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne mimics a Frontier town with saloon and Apache playground. Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe takes you to a New Mexico village atmosphere with its Mexican restaurant. Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch is set in a large forest with self-catering cabins approx. 15 mins from the main theme park, so it is perfect for those who wish to use their cars, as the shuttle buses do not run from there to the park.

Other attractions at the Park include the magical world of the ‘ Disneyland Park ;’ a peek into the world of television, cartoons and movies at Walt Disney Studios Park , or for a variety of entertainment, shopping and night-life visit Disney Village . Top it all off with a visit to Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Dinner Show. There are a wide variety of places to eat aside from the plentiful Disney eateries, such as Planet Hollywood and the Rain Forest Café.

You might want to plan your visit to coincide with some of the annual parades and special events, such as the Halloween Festival, Christmas, Chinese New Year and the Lion King Carnival. If you can travel in early November you could catch the Fireworks and Bonfire celebrations.

There are special prices for those able to travel during off-peak times, and many other deals and offers are available throughout the year. The internet, newspapers and other media sources are great sources of information for planning your trip and finding the best deals, especially for the kids.
