on the planet.
North America is a continent found in the northern hemisphere, bordered
to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the east by the North Atlantic
Ocean, to the south by the Caribbean Sea, and to the west by the
North Pacific Ocean.
It covers an area of approximately 17,230,000 square miles. Its
population was estimated at around 454,200,000 in 2001 and is the
third largest continent on Earth.
