Argentina is known for probably being the most European of South American countries and the city of Rio de la Plata in the east of the country typifies this, with a distinctly Spanish flavour . The real hub of the country is Buenos Aires, the capital city, with designer shops and fascinating old architecture where you’ll find a huge mixture of different cultures.

Beyond, Buenos Aires you’ll find many historical towns that hark back to colonial times, well worth a visit. There are fantastic opportunities for outdoor pursuits in the west of the country including skiing and hiking.

The far south of the country, Patagonia is a wild and rugged place. A natural wilderness it’s the ideal place for spotting a wild range of wildlife including seals, birds and various arctic creatures. The sight of huge glaciers crashing into the ocean is awe inspiring. This is truly in contrast to the northwest of the country which is mainly desert, although in the northeast you will find a huge waterfall known locally as Las Cataratas del Iguazu. Argentina is a land of huge contrasts with extremely friendly people and masses to explore.
