Hello and a warm welcome to our new-look travel magazine!

We hope you will find our posts interesting and informative.  Watch for travel news, travel advisories, travel tips and all things travel-related – as well as a few funnies thrown in to lighten the mood.

We will, of course, post news of any significant or interesting events, offers, or changes related to travel insurance, ski insurance and car breakdown services.  (Okay, boring, but insurance is one of those necessary evils).

In case you are new to us, we are a well-established company based in the UK, offering very reasonable rates for insurance – but most of all we pride ourselves on our great customer service and high number of repeat customers.

If you are among the statistics of those who risk travelling without insurance we hope this will be the year that you resolve to protect yourself and your family with travel insurance. It would be great if you choose us of course but  even if you do not, please buy adequate insurance somewhere.

You may notice that the archive for our previous travel-news blog is still available and includes an enormous amount of advice and information that you may find interesting reading.

With all the doom and gloom in the news and the current dire financial situation it is important to keep the spirits up.  If you are lucky enough to afford a foreign holiday this year why not spend the short winter days dreaming of sunshine and picking out your next holiday destination.  Our Travel and Ski Guide may inspire you to try something completely different.

Blue Monday is coming up (16 or 23 January – whichever date you follow – both potentially and equally depressing!).  A holiday and break from routine is very important for the wellbeing of all, so we promise to do our bit by providing peace-of-mind for your travels with our professional but affordable travel insurance, ski insurance and car/motorcycle breakdown cover.

Worth noting at the moment is the exchange rate for the euro, which is the best it has been for British tourists in a long while. If you’ve been thinking of a European city break, taking the kids to Disneyland, a trip to a European capital through the Channel Tunnel, or Alpine ski trip then now might be a good time to do it.

As you may know from our homepage and earlier blog posts, we promote the travel advice provided by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.  As a partner in their ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign we very strongly recommend that you make a habit of visiting the FCO website before booking any foreign travel.  For your convenience we include links through to their site from our Travel Guide pages.

Here’s wishing a healthy and happy 2012 to all – and safe travels – from the team here at TIA Ltd!
