So much for summer… the weather in the UK, especially the rain, just seems to get worse and worse and we are now into July.  With school summer holidays fast approaching many families are wondering whether to scrap their UK holiday plans.  What will it be: cheap holiday abroad or UK rain?  If you are having trouble deciding, why not go online and search for a late deal on a cheap holiday package abroad with a better guarantee of sun.

It is easy to underestimate the cost of a holiday in the UK, which can rack up some serious money.  Teeming rain sends us running for cover, and very often that cover comes with a price in the form of pacifying drinks, snacks and entertainment.   A more budget-friendly option for families is a cheap sunshine destination abroad, especially at a good all-inclusive resort.

According to the Met Office weather experts, June 2012 has been the wettest in parts of the UK since records began in 1910.  We had the rainiest April ever recorded, and the period from April to June was the wettest ever recorded for the UK.  To add insult to injury the Met Office reported that June was also the dullest on record, with only 119.2 hrs of sun.  Storms and floods have battered many areas of the UK and Northern Ireland, and it is not much better now that we are into July.

Royal Ascot was a washout this year.  It was a challenge to keep the Olympic torch alight during the torch relays.  The Isle of Wight Festival was a muddy affair.  Wimbledon has struggled with all the UK rain, with play stopped regularly to cover courts and close the roof on Centre Court.  The British F1 Grand Prix has caused disappointment to thousands of fans with many being turned away from practice sessions because of the appalling rain and muddy car parks.  One can only wonder what sort of weather lies in store for the London 2012 Olympic Games.  Fingers crossed…

You can’t rely on the weather or levels of UK rain, but if you decide on a cheap sunshine holiday abroad you know that you can always rely on us for excellent and cheap holiday insurance!

One of our team here has already experienced the wrath of the UK rain and weather with a recent ‘staycation’.  Many of us are busy looking at sunshine holidays for later in the year.  How about you?  Pay us a visit on Twitter or Facebook and tell us about your holiday plans, especially if you have already had a bad weather holiday experience this year. Have your summer plans changed because of the rotten UK weather?   So what will it be?  Cheap holiday abroad or UK rain?  What lies at the end of your rainbow… a pot of gold or some needed sunshine?
